The Cincinnati Red Stockings. The New York Mutuals. The Indianapolis Blues. The Milwaukee Cream Citys. The great teams
of yesterday are the great teams of today in Vintage Base Ball. For more than a decade, the sport of Vintage Base Ball has
been growing throughout New England, New York state, Ohio, the Midwest, and even California. But Washington and Baltimore,
among the first cities to embrace the New York game in the 1850s and 1860s, have been left out of the old game’s modern
renaissance for too long. The founding members of the Chesapeake and Potomac Base Ball Club were all members of SABR, and
the club is working with historians, experts, institutions like the Babe Ruth Museum and the Alexandria Historical Society,
and dozens of existing Vintage Base Ball teams to create an organization that all of Baltimore and Washington can be proud
of.
